Twice a year, mergers and acquisition professionals from around the world gather for an industry-wide conference. While at the conference, they attend educational seminars, have a chance to network with professionals in related industries, and recognize those outstanding members that go above-and-beyond in promoting the IBBA Standard of Ethics.

Walden Businesses, a prestigious M&A firm based in Atlanta GA, has received three such recognitions at the Fall 2009 industry conference hosted this year in Reno NV.

Chet Walden was named a “Fellow of the IBBA” and nominated to the Board of Directors for M&A Source. To be named a Fellow is the highest honor accorded within the industry. There are currently fewer than thirty M&A professionals that hold this honor. His nomination to the Board of Directors comes as the result of years of dedication to the success of fellow brokers through the promotion of peer education and development, and his work in refining the proprietary “Client First” process that is regarded as a Best Practice throughout the industry today.

Sara Burden, Vice President of the company, and Doreen Morgan, a Principal who specializes in franchise divestitures, were recognized at the awards banquet for earning the industry’s coveted Mergers & Acquisitions Master Intermediary (M&AMI) designation. To earn this honor requires years of dedication to IBBA ideals and practices, including a commitment to a grueling educational requirement that many brokers abandon as “unreachable” or “too hard”, rather than pursue.
